Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi has dismissed reports that an emergency meeting was called after the Nations Cup opening day draw against Burkina Faso.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president Aminu Maigari told BBC Sport that the coach was summoned to an emergency meeting in Nelspruit.
The Super Eagles gave up a late goal after leading for over an hour on Monday, but Keshi insists it was only a regular meeting with the football federation.
"It was not a summon rather a discussion between the coach and the federation," according to Keshi.
"Unlike what is being reported in the media, we only exchanged views and opinions about the game against Burkina Faso.
"This is a usual thing and nothing so special. Nothing emergency about it." he said.
Sources at the NFF hotel confirmed angry voices were heard and the coach was indeed summoned to explain the draw.
"They were charging and raising voices. Someone shouted 'call him let him come and explain the draw." the source explained.
