Fenerbahce edge closer to Belhanda deal

Montpellier insist they will only let reported Fenerbahce target Younes Belhanda leave for the right price.

The Moroccan playmaker is also being linked with Tottenham Hotspur, a claim laughed off by AVB recently.

Turkish giants Fenerbahce are believed to be in the process of convincing the player his future lies in Istanbul.

"I think Younes has made up his mind to go to Istanbul, everything else is with Montpellier," a source close to Belhanda told this blog.

"Once a deal is agreed, I think there will be a statement."

When asked about the speculation regarding his future, Belhanda replied: "That's for clubs and agents to sort out. I'm focusing on my fitness and the Nations Cup with Morocco for now."

Montpellier president Louis Nicollin says he is willing to let Belhanda leave during winter window, yet turned down an initial offer of £6 million plus add-ons from the Turkish giants.

He is understood to want closer to £12 million, although a bid of around £10 million is expected to suffice.

He said: "I will let him leave, and I think he wants to leave as well. If they rise to €15 million, everything will go through."
