DR Congo came back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Ghana in their African Cup of Nations opener on Sunday in Port Elizabeth.
Ghana scored the first goal of the tournament when Emmanuel Agyemang Badu slid home from Kwadwo Asamoah's pass.
Asamoah then doubled Ghana's lead when he headed in at the far post but Leopard's Tresor Mputu replied quickly for DR Congo, poking home from inside the box.
And DR Congo complete the comeback shortly afterwards when Dieumerci Mbokani equalised from the spot on 69 minutes after he was brought down by Jerry Akaminko inside the area.
Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan: "We paid for our mistakes. We will go home, correct our mistakes and come back stronger."
Youssouf Mulumbu: "We never gave up, we fought hard and deserved the draw. The self-belief of this team was superb. Now our fans can also believe in us."
