Ejide boost for Nigeria

Nigeria goalkeeper Austin Ejide will return to training by weekend after he quit Wednesday’s warm-up vs Cape Verde due to a thigh strain.

Ejide is now the country’s No.1 choice ahead of long-term first choice Vincent Enyeama, according to officials.

The 'real' Chamakh

Moroccan Marouane Chamakh will be given the chance to recreate his Bordeaux form, according to West Ham boss Sam Allardyce.

"We'll try and get him to be that goal threat he was at Bordeaux," Allardyce told reporters.

"He's been very disappointed with his lack of involvement at Arsenal, certainly for the last year, and he's itching and hungry to get back and show what he can do.

"We'll give him the platform and hopefully he grabs the chance with both hands and reproduces his Bordeaux performances.

Sow unbelievable

Liverpool have offered Turkish club Fenerbahce £9m for Senegalese striker Moussa Sow, 26. According to Fanatik.

The Teranga Lion who joined Fenerbahce from French side Lille last January has reportedly rejected the 'rumour'.
